Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Noticed a new planning application in this week's planning list which is seeking an A2 permit (financial and professional services) - which, as I understand it, effectively gives an occupier carte-blanche to open as a gambling establishment.

Would appreciate a comment from the LCSP / anyone else in the know on this.

If I'm right, we might want to think about getting objecting

This is the old Nationwide bank next to the Post Office. Similar scenario to Better Bet and MetroBet which opened in old banks.

The planning statement asks for this condition to be removed: that the premises can only be used as a building society. Reason: In order that the use of the premises for a purpose not suited to a shopping street should not become established.

This is the company who have acquired the freehold. Perhaps we should ask them directly what their plan for development is...
Do you have the time to do that? I know I'll just shout at them if I call. IF this is another betting shop we really do have to take action, serious action, I'm talking plackards and shouting and sticks and stones. Not having another one. No f'ing way! Enough is enough. This area is stretched to the max.
Nooooooooooooooooo! Not another one, please. Why don't we ask them?
From what I see on their website, it's likely that Pacemanor won't be running any operations; they'll likely lease it out. If that's the case, it makes sense for them to lease it as a unit with as much flexibility of use as possible. I'm not sure where asking us would get us. The issue fro me is what are the possible likely implications. Even if this bunch wanted to remove the restrictions to run an eco bank, what if they bust after a year? The restrictions are still gone.
Some news on this: although this property has an A2 permit it can only be used for "comparable financial use", in other words it can't become a betting shop without further planning permission being applied for.
