Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

It would be interesting for all members to feedback what they think this site has achieved over the last 12 months, its first year.

It maybe something that has been useful for you personally (eg. Questions & offers). You may think the site has contributed to positive real change on the ground, out in the community.

Unfortunately not all of us can make the Navigator meetings that are held monthly so this is your chance to feed back here if you wish. If you'd like to suggest changes to the site or ways to get involved in positive changes out within the community please do include your thoughts.

I don't know why either, thats what I couldn't understand as there is so little there. It was a perfectly legitimate question that got an over reaction, again.

There may be a reason why people don't want to leave feedback?
I'm genuinely interested in assessing how well an online community forum such as HoL has helped over the last 12 months to change things for the better within Harringay, for individuals as well as the wider community, particularly out there on the ground as it were.

I can think of a few examples to kick off the discussion. The main one I believe is that it has enabled quite a number of people to come together off-line to meet up on specific interests, such as The Book Club, Residents meetings on various topics such as HMOs, meeting new neighbours via the HoL monthly drinks.

There we are. Positive stuff. Just looking for other examples and suggestions of what people might like to see happen in future, utilizing HoL as a change mechanism to get great things achieved out there for our community.

I certainly wasn't expecting a discussion about feedback mechanisms already available, as I wasn't aware feedback was already available for all to see. I'm still not.

Anyway, this discussion is here for all to participate in and view. I hope it will be encouraged and just maybe it would be a good idea to email this discussion out to all members to allow a good amount of feedback. Alternatively it could be put out in a different survey format by site admin.
Clearly, I should have put one of those icons that suggest that I was smiling when I wrote my reponse,
mere false exasperation.

There's nothing to stop people from offering feedback at any point and the lack of it at present is probably, as Steve suggests, because people do not feel the need at this point to offer it. Looking back over past discussions, you will find there is plenty of commentary on what people feel has been achieved and what not, but no neither I nor Hugh have gathered it all together in one easy to read place and performed a qualitative review of it (You must know how long such things take and maybe you think I'm rather underemployed at present...joke birdy)

The update goes out tomorrow people will see this discussion then and offer opinions accordingly. it would actually be useful to gather any feedback you do gather Matt in the feedback group, perhaps you could link to it so we don't lose what people offer when this discussion disappears into the archive. That's what I do when I wish to keep track of main forum discussions in the groups that I manage, makes it easy to retrieve.
For goodness sake guys - where's all this nonsese coming from:

- There may be a reason why people don't want to leave feedback?
- Anyway, this discussion is here for all to participate in and view. I hope it will be encouraged

I've been openly asking for feedback since the site began. In the past month I have added TWO completely open feedback mechanisms. As with all other posts on this site NOTHING is changed or taken away unless it's likely to contravene the site guidelines (And that has been very few occasions).

My issue here guys is that people can get over-surveyed. Which means when I want to run a more formal process to help move the site forward people will be surveyed out. That's why you're having this discussion Matt and that's why I'm not going to be promoting this discussion. In the meantime people can freely leave feedback wherever they want and how they want as long as it's not rude insulting, racist etc.

Oookee.
