Alternatives to Virgin?

Are there any alternatives to Virgin in the area?

I have been told that I have to live with my broadband connection constantly going offline in sleep mode, or when I go and have a cuppa, and then I have to go and find links and passwords to get back on; that is unless I pay for a more expensive package!

Also its impossible to get through to them on the phone on any of their numbers without being cut off just as you get to the apogee of the labyrinth of "press 2 for x, press 3 for xx".

I had this with Virgin and complained and they gave me a new superhub. Seems to have sorted it (touch digital wood). These superhubs are badly made and soon wear out.
