Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

... have appeared this afternoon on our road. Signal markers for our new friends the circling Ospreys (ala Trump) or something even more mysterious like, well you never know, possible preparation from Highways for new footpath surfacing? Now that would be alien!

I emailed our councillors yesterday for details. Works start on 23rd according to signage.

So just to be clear, new footpath surfacing? And I guess just tarmac, nothing as fancy as Effinghamshire?

Not sure, but I believe council policy changed a couple of years back to replace with paving slabs rather than tarmac.

There were no waiting signs posted along the header of the road advising of footway resurfacing but they were taken down the day after, now there's just a sign advising motorists that works are occurring for 6 weeks or so.

OK thanks, think you're right. Did a great slab job with Frobisher so seems like good news.

Half of Frobisher.  The other half still has terrible paving, as anyone who has a pushchair will tell you.

Which road(s) was this for?

Falkland

The aliens have arrived. They don't like tarmac. Doing passage up to top of Falkland Rd on school side then on otherside outside Fairland Park, stopping outside no.20. Meterage done!

Wonder when they’ll finish Warham?  A few years ago one side was paved from GL to the New Rover bridge and then work just stopped.  The paved bit looks lovely.  Tarmaced part is like a patchwork quilt of ugliness and trip hazards.

Spoke to works supervisor about this ...  as why do Falkland when Frobisher hasn't been finished? He didn't know but did say it was frustrating for them as they like to at least finish one side rather than stop 3/4s the way up! They did complete Effingham though :)

Funding for resurfacing pavements has been slashed from the Highways budget. They’re only doing sections that they deem a priority. Therefore there will be a patchwork of pavement surfaces across the borough.

The works to Warham were carried out over 5 years ago!
