Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

As a long term and loyal client of Virgin Media I called them about a month ago and asked for resigning from the phone line counting on the discount with using only the internet connection. To my surprise I was informed that the cost of keeping the broadband with phone and without is the same so I gave up. But Virgin Media did not want to disappoint me with this info and I was informed that they can increase the speed of my internet connection from 10 to 30 meg. I was very pleased with this info and after searching their website I noticed that the lowest speed if you are on the cable modem is 30 meg. So their prezzy was just an upgrade and nothing extra.
If you are with Virgin Media with cable connection just call them and ask for upgrade. The only issue can be your slightly old router or modem in your house but this could be replaced by them.

Never take the speed upgrades. Eventually they will upgrade their equipment anyway and HAVE to put you on the faster speed (unless... they're deliberately throttling to make it slower...).

I had this too, I was on their 'Medium' broadband backage when I originally signed up and recently found that I was not even on the bottom rung of their currently advertised speed pacakge. I regularly look at my contract and I was told that I was due to be upgraded (late next year), but if I changed my package I would immidiately be upgraded to the new faster speeds Usain/Richard is promising! So, I did, I actually cut my package and they sent me a new modem/router and all seems good.  I also yesterday prepaid my line rental for the year (I am on a contract so why not, I have to pay it anyway), and saved £50+.....
