I agree we need a Residents Association for the Ladder. And we need to lobby to reduce the rush hour traffic ussing the Ladder as a shortcut between Green Lanes and Whightman Rd

Manuel, you might be interested in this upcoming meeting being organised by some Ladder residents.

We have a local election coming up next year. You can listen to what your current representatives said about traffic when they were in the running for the last election via the links in Section 2 on this page. Your current councillors are Karen Alexander, David Schmitz and Gina Adamou.

I think it would be quite simple to avoid all that extra traffic but not allowing tight hand turning and left turning in some of the Ladder roads and no left hand turning in other ones. Then cars would not be able to use the Ladder as a shortcut and they would not be able to beat traffic by getting from Green Lanes to Whightman Rd

Agreed.

A discussion is a start, I'd speak to people, get some meetings going, host meetings,
Matt's right about the roads, that frame Harringay they are crucial,
it's a delicate process that needs encouragement and support from all of us.

LCSP has a role and can be incorporated into the Ladder/s Residents Association as would all the roads individual residents associations, it would serve as an umbrella for the Ladder as a whole, there are approximately 8 thousand residents in the Harringay Ward, and that includes children.

An LRA could provide a framework or platform for groups whose focus may be for the benefit of children's well being, or senior citizens needs.

Time commitment is an issue, I think the chair role should be shared, and more sustainable as you can pool strengths,
can we avoid a system that annoys us where there are a select few, outreach is important to keep residents in the loop.

Sporting bodies, garden associations and friends of park associations etc should be included, to join up thinking for the benefit of the local area. A constitution needs to be set up, with a code of conduct for its members for a positive way to bring thoughts together and address views, diffusing confrontation.

Lets do it and get it right, I see too many reasons to do it, and it would be mutually beneficial to all of us, that way we can't be fobbed off.
