And a rather belated thank you at that!
On Friday 9 July, as well as dealing with the aftermath of the shooting, residents at the top of Warham Road and those backing on in Permberton Road, were treated to the noisiest party I've heard in years. It started at around 9pm and eventually ended at 2pm the next day.
The Noise Team were fantastic. Despite the problems just getting through the Police lines, they visited and asked the residents to turn the noise down several times (which they did until they saw the coast was clear and turned it back up again).
Eventually, after repeated warnings, they issued a notice and threatened them with seizure of the equipment after which it went blissfully quiet.
The team kept us informed all the way through about what they were doing and came to our house to explain about the notice and possible (or as the officer put it, definite) seizure if the nuisance did not stop.
Thanks have been passed to them via the ward Councillors.
A word of warning though. This will be exactly the sort of service that is under threat from the round of budget cuts.
