An interesting and thought provoking blog post from Alan Stanton on the latest fly tipping figures and the hidden dangers of leaving that old TV on the pavement click here
I was thinking about this the other day (on seeing yet more junk dumped by the passage) and like Alan am struck by the fact that, by clearing dumped rubbish away, you do send out a message that this sort of thing just gets 'dealt with' by somebody else. But what is the solution? If you leave it you just make everyone's lives a misery (and worse, taking Alan's point about the partially sighted).
The only option I can see is for more time and effort being put into prosecuting the people who actually do it. Slightly easier than trying to fine dog owners who don't clear up after their dogs, but still a challenge. Does Haringey ever do this?

Inspired by Alan, I realised that I had seen all this within the space a little Nip to the Shops. The dog poo and chicken boxes, cig litter and other detritus are not shown.
