The fact that alcohol misuse on Grand parade is one of the priorities is to be welcomed.
The evidence in the morning of discarded cans, bottles and bodily fluids suggest that (with the warmer weather perhaps) street drinking is very prevalent in this area.
Combine this with the rather shocking statistics of crime related to betting shops on Green Lanes, as published by Harringay SNT, and we have a rather unappealing picture of our high street. The police are clearly taking steps to deal with it, I do acknowledge that, but I am concerned that when more establishments open and with the availability of shockingly cheap, strong lager from off licences that our problems will increase.
