Open House visits to Ferry Lane Estate

Ferry Lane Estate is in the Open House programme again this year.

We're running two guided tours of  the estate: Friday 8th Sept 5.30p to 7.30pm and Saturday 9th September 11-1pm. These will include opportunities to visit individual flats (we have a number of residents who have offered this).

People can just turn up to join the tours.

In addition to the story of the estate we will also cover some of the history of the site - which was the Harris Lebus furniture factory, the largest in the world and which occupied the area covered by both our estate and Hale Village. Paul Collier, a Ferry Lane resident, has written two books on the factory - one is a history and the other a history of the furniture.
