Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Rather than cluttering up another thread where this subject came up -
http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/please-help-us-raise-70...
I thought I would start a new one on the subject for those who are interested in continuing the debate.
The thing that got me interested was this quote in the thread I've linked to above

"Global warming is perpetuated by the media and the left because it has all the things the left love: A way for tin pot dictator countries to use the UN to shake down the USA and the West for money; a problem that only government can solve, so government of course has to be made bigger to address and you need to be taxed even more because of it."

So I decided to see who else was talking about it and found this from what seems to be a non-tin pot dictator organisation

"Congressman Hank Johnson who said Guam would tip over and capsize"-Knavel

From the end of the article you posted!

Congressman Hank Johnson said "he was concerned that the influx of military personnel would overwhelm the island's infrastructure and ecosystem.

"The subtle humour of this obviously metaphorical reference to a ship capsizing illustrated my concern about the impact of the planned military build-up on this small tropical island," he said.

Madeleine Bordallo, Guam's delegate to the House, told Kuam News that she understood his comment were in jest.

"I know Congressman Hank Johnson, and I'm sure that - he's been here to Guam - so I'm sure that it was just a joke," she said.

Sailors on the island reportedly took the comments in good humour.

One is said to have shown up for his duty posting wearing a life vest "just in case”. "

Its called humour...

I think we've firmly established that climate change is a myth. along I'm sure, with gravity, right-wing intelligentsia and Manchester United fans who live in Manchester.

I shan't be reading any replies to this as I've got to go and watch my unicorn run in the Grand National.
Here's hoping for some global warmth in London over the long weekend

Apparently our air is cleaner than ever before https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_dat...

However the "green" lobby is a fan of cars with a 5 year lifespan (electric), as replacing the failed batteries is uneconomical thus rendering the chassis and internal fittings as scrap.

As I see things the smart move is to keep the internal combustion engine and move to a carbon neutral fuel such as rapeseed oil.

Rudolf Diesel states, "In 1900 a small Diesel engine was exhibited by the Otto company which, on the suggestion of the French Government, was run on arachide [peanut] oil, and operated so well that very few people were aware of the fact. The motor was built for ordinary oils, and without any modification was run on vegetable oil." Diesel went on to say that "I have recently repeated these experiments on a large scale with full success and entire confirmation of the results formerly obtained."
