Just had a card through the door as we were out when something was delivered. On the back, it says our delivery office is moving from tottenham lane to station rd, N19. I live on Hewitt, N8.
Has anyone else heard about the move or know why this is happening? It's the first I've heard about it and am really disappointed as it is miles away from us. I'm really hoping I've got the wrong end of the stick but the flyer seems pretty clear.
It is a 56 minute walk according to google maps, which will mean almost a two hour round trip to pick up missed post in future.

THIS is what the party of the Council Minority Group did in respect of of the parcel service, nearly two years ago,

Had a letter about this today, seems a bit sneaky. The industrial estate doesn't look particularly pedestrian friendly - not sure I'd feel safe wandering in there. Delivering to a local post office is great but not sure how they justify a charge for this, that's out of order.

Michaela, I've been there more than once to collect a parcel. On my first visit in winter, I managed to slip over on ice on the long Station Road that is little-used by pedestrians. The parcels office is at the far end from the entrance to the industrial estate.
It's a trek for anyone in N4 or N15 and reached either by tube (nearest = Tufnell Park) or by buses (changes likely needed).
For anyone on foot and hoping for a cut-through from Holloway Road to Station Road: there isn't any, I tried. It's a nuisance.
You could try this route devised by Hugo Read, Clive - it's a partial solution at least.
Thanks Clive, sounds like one to avoid wherever possible! I suspect I'll be spending a lot of £1.50s...
You couldn't make it up.
Just used the 0845 6050767 automated number, since the Royal Mail website declines to hold a searchable list of delivery offices, and I want the street address plus postcode of our delivery-office-in-the-boondocks for journey-search purposes.
Spoke my postcode and road name, and the computer-powered voice told me my nearest delivery office was "Royal Mail Finsbury Park Delivery Office, N19 5UW".
1) Finsbury Park?? Well it was located on Fonthill Road, back of Finsbury Park station, until only about 20 years ago, I suppose. Some parts of Royal Mail's information service could do with a bit of updating - I thought the leaner keener meaner new organisation might have realised the name on the front of the building says 'North London Delivery Office' since all the other local ones have been closed.
2) No road name, just the postcode. Ok ok, easy enough to find out via a host of third-party websites as well as their own postcode/roadname finder, but even so...
Sheesh.
I is really sad that it is closing and a b****y cheek that they will charge a fee to redeliver to a local post office.
Has anybody considered the Royal Mail delivery office at Ally Pally station as an option? It's nearer and more user friendly a location than Tufnell Park?

Ah, but can one nominate it as a delivery location, do you know?
This could be an option for those involved in the campaigning related to the Hornsey office closure to consider, as an alternative to Tufnell Park, and if they thought that this would be a preferable option and would find more favour with local residents, to present it to Royal Mail. It may not be, of course, but it is not clear whether this delivery office has even been considered as a viable alternative to Hornsey. It certainly feels more like part of the Harringay/Wood Green locality and while further from the Ladder than Hornsey, is not as difficult to get to as Tufnell Park, and is also on an accessible, semi-residential street with many passers by using the station across the road from it, or the pub next to it - rather than a grim industrial estate in N19.
And there's a nearby bus stop (W3, and 184 from Turnpike Lane bus station).
