Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Legal funding to fight Prevention of Harassment Letter over St Ann's Labour Fraud

I've decided that I am going to go ahead with the legal fight.

Bindmans have estimated that their initial advice on the Prevention of Harassment Letter will be up to £1,500. Funds are needed in advance, before Bindmans can start work. If anyone wants to contribute, Bindmans’ bank details are:

National Westminster Bank plc
Sort Code: 60 12 14
Client Account No: 30366658

When transferring funds, please use the reference JS McMullan.

I intend to fully recover costs and will be donating your money to St Mungos unless you tell me you'd like it back if I win.

I estimate that I'll have to put up £500 of my own money and then a further few thousand if Bindmans go ahead.

Former Haringey resident, now Labour parliamentary candidate in Brighton responds to abusive trolling.
Am posting this in order to add to the local debate.

BBC News - Brighton politician Purna Sen targeted by abusive troll http://bbc.in/1n1mPkU

Cheers. Enough to put you off politics.

It's also better to do your tweeting (trolling is not abuse) anonymously if you're going to be abusive as otherwise you make it all too easy for the Police. For the record, I was not anonymous and I was not abusive.

Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights

1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. This article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of broadcasting, television or cinema enterprises.

2. The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society, in the interests of national security, territorial integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the judiciary.

David Lammy has just been retweeted into my twitter stream by someone saying that he is going to visit Victor Olisa, the Borough Commander and was there anything we wanted to ask him. He actually blocks me so I don't suppose I could ask for some help. Could people please tweet @DavidLammy and @VprDr on my behalf asking about rescinding the Harassment Notice issued against me? Failing that it looks like I will have to spend a lot of money with solicitors.

You have collectively donated £990 towards my legal fees. Thank you all so much, I'm very humbled. I have decided to go ahead with attempting to get the Harassment Notice rescinded which is going to cost me another three thousand pounds which I have paid myself (presuming I can ask the Met for some costs).

Unfortunately I have also been advised to keep away from "the issue" in the time being. As there are 64 days until the election I think some others need to take up the baton. As far as I can see, those three candidates will be elected in St Ann's.

I will transfer another donation. Good luck!

''Hi David (lammy). Please help rescind the RIDICULOUS Harassment Notice issued against John Mcmullan from harringayonline.com with regard to the labour st annes ward selection scandal thanks in advance, james walsh''.

Cheers James but as he has blocked me on twitter (or the person who manages his twitter feed has) and a few of us picketed him when he canvassed in St Ann's I'm not holding my breath. :)

Who is @VprDr, can't find them on Twitter? (There is someone with a very similar name but all he seems to be interested in is war planes and I'm guessing that isn't who you mean!).

Oh dear, my bad. @VpoDr = Victor Olisa, the borough commander.

I've spoken to the borough commander. He seemed like a thoroughly decent chap and promised to look into it and get back to me by tomorrow evening. My lawyer is going to hold off on sending him a letter asking him to do this :)

Thanks everyone.
