Yes, we are on Warham. It does clear if you leave it to stand but it's unusual for it to be like that in this area.

Thanks, Liz. Will see if it clears in a day or two.

On Cavendish I have had this on many occasions. Its not so much cloudy as fizzy, as it clears when left to stand.

It is just lots of small air bubbles in your water . Nothing to worry about, as Liz says if you leave it it will clear.

yep, yesterday in the Gardens and less so today.

Same here, have decided to stick to wine until it clears, on health grounds

I notcied this yesterday on Beresford. It looked like more tiny bubbles than usual to me. It has cleared up today, from my tap anyway.

I moved to Crouch End in 1995 and noticed then and now how cloudy the water is, and it smells strongly of chlorine, more so than anywhere else I've sampled! Not noticed any bubbles in it though.

Interesting. I lived in Crouch End in the early 2000s and started buying bottled water, which I'd never had any interest in before. I'm in Turnpike Lane now and still think the water's really chloriney. Is it something about this area?

The chlorine is put in by Thames Water to keep it bug free. They do sometimes over chlorinate the water, and if you call them they will look into whether they are adding too much (they do not like useing to much as it is expensive stuff).

However, the reason we have very chlorinated water in London is because of the number of breaks and holes in the pipe network. Bascially because of the old infrastructure, and how poor so much of it is, the water is pumped at high pressure to make sure where there is a break the water leaks out, and rubbish does not leak into the pipes (one reasons for such high losses in London) . In addition, in case anything does get in the second line of defence is the chlorine.

As with the cloudyness caused by air bubbles if you leave the water to stand the chlorine and cloudiness will disapear. Use a water filter, or a jug to just let your water stand and you will see a massive improvement.
