How are you sleeping Lausanne Rd?
So 2am this morning I was woken by a council recycling truck humping down our street back to Mary Neuner Rd. I still can't find out who is responsible for recycling but it is definitely someone in the council.
I have been woken all but one morning this week by an absolute speed demon in a smallish truck at around 5am. I estimate that he is doing about 50mph by the time he gets to my hump. It must be great fun. This morning I set my alarm for 5am to get his rego (yeah he's going so fast even I can't see it clearly). He woke me up at 450 and was travelling so fast I don't think I could have seen it even if I had already been awake.
Is it just me getting woken up by this?
7:10am we had a skip truck (BX54 ZTM, not liveried and not O'Donovans - yes I have them on speed dial).
I am tempted to take my car down to the bottom of the street and leave it with the hazard lights on all night blocking the road. Good luck Raleigh Rd, I'll be thinking of you.

Life imitating art? Or perhaps the other way round? Our friend's woes were no sitcom. The landlord eventually installed a false ceiling and insulation.
Which of course, constructively "reframed" the problem. Removing it from a focus on the individual behaviour and (in)sensitivities of the people involved.

Well that was a happier outcome than we had when our pleas to two young media types to not conduct midweek drugs parties with the decks on full blast above the bed of two people who had to work normal hours or even just to move their socials to the floor above were met with indifference bordering on contempt. Believe me, I know what it is to lie awake waiting...

Ummmm, Alan, I do as much work on other roads as I do on my own. Here I am on Pemberton on Thursday:
After I took his photo and gave him the bird he stopped his truck (what a big man) so I sprinted over to his cab and had a discussion with him "I'm doing a local delivery.", "OK then, what's the address?", "None of your business". I called him a liar and he drove off. I haven't been able to track down the name of the firm on google and as I'm not the police I can't do a registration plate check.
I'm aware that the Ontime trucks now try to use Raleigh but if I catch them they continue, pointlessly, down to Turnpike Lane.

Sorry if this has been covered earlier in this conversation, but can't the police chase up this number plate for you and prosecute the driver/company?
If trucks of this size are breaking the law by driving down the ladder roads, then they are liable to fines bases on this evidence.
Or if not the police, what about the council? They're not slow to collect fines for traffic offences are they?
