Oh yes, signed.

And, by the way Tigha, thank you for the work and effort you have put in to raise and write this petition. It is much appreciated. I have shared it on local What's App groups.

Thanks for putting this together. Is it possible to edit that the 40 permits annually is no longer a thing (apparently that was a mistake in the original documentation), as I can see the council trying to say that people were signing it because of that, not because the scheme itself is rubbish.

Signed

Just to be clear, I didn’t  write this, I’m just trying to share it as much as possible

Bear in mind that there is no obligation for this to be taken into account when the decision is made. If you want to make sure that your view is heard then I recommend emailing a response to the consultation.

Yes agree, it’s not either or but both

As I understood from the longer discussion. Petitions cannot be taken into account - we need to write to our councillors with objections.

There is a comprehensive suggested draft letter in the longer discussion…

Signed and forwarded to my neighbours in Claremont road/ Stanhope Gardens.

The petition highlights that it is particularly unfair to residents in the East of the Council (Tottenham) as they tend to have full day CPZ (only 2 hours where I live).

Please sign and forward to your neighbours!

Looks like all our objections have worked!

I have just received the following

Dear Permit Holder

I am writing to you regarding the recent statutory consultation on the proposed changes to our Parking Policy, for which you kindly provided your feedback.

We proposed 10 policy changes to support our new Parking Strategy, aimed at accommodating our growing borough, as well as supporting local businesses and residents, particularly those with disabilities.

We wanted to hear your views on these proposals and greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond to our consultation. Your feedback has been instrumental in ensuring that our decision aligns with the needs of our local community here in Haringey.

We have carefully analysed all of the feedback that we received, and it was clear that the majority of you felt that abolishing Daily Visitor Permits would not work due to an unfair disadvantage for areas with longer CPZ hours.

Concerns were also raised about the negative impact it could have on the support networks of individuals with specific needs and the significant cost increase.

Today, after considering all of the responses, we have made the decision to not go ahead with this proposal, and Daily Visitor Permits will be retained.

Thank you again for participating in the consultation. Your input has been invaluable in ensuring we make the best decisions for our borough, together.

For more information on the full list of Parking Policy changes and whether they will be implemented or not can be found on our website https://haringey.gov.uk/parking/consultations-parking/have-your-say...

Best wishes

Cllr Seema Chandwani
Cabinet Member for Tackling Inequality and Resident Services
