Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We're in the process of reluctantly coming to terms with the reality that our children do not want to be saddled with our books and dvds and to that end we're looking to move on dozens of both.

Thse include mountains of contemporary novels, reference books which we bought the kids which they've steadfastly ignored, art and sport books and many box set dvd collections - breaking Bad, Treme, etc and stacks of films.

Is there a charity somewhere or some enterprising boot fair or school with an upcoming  jumble sale which would take these off of our hands ?

We'd like to move them on in one hit and so I'm not taking calls to come and pick through them for the best ones !

If you're interested or can suggest someone whom I can contact who might be,  then please email me on

Thanks

Thanks again Catherine, but sadly the Shelter branch in Wood Green are not accepting any more books...

Try hospital those ladies that run the little stalls in hospital foyers maybe? North mid or whittington

There's the Oxfam book/record/dvd shop on Park Road, Crouch End.

Thanks Gordon.

I thought I'd try and look elsewhere as they seem to be pretty well-stocked, but may otherwise run out of options.

North London Hospice organisation used to pick up if you haven't got transport (there are shops in Wood Green and Crouch End). Sorry I haven't got phone number to hand. I take a shopping trolley over to Oxfam every so often, I think they would be happy to take reference, art and probably sport (not my thing!) and films.

Thanks Alyson.

Will pursue !

You can book a free collection with the British Heart Foundation: https://www.bhf.org.uk/shop/donating-goods/free-collection-of-cloth...

Thanks Katia.

Start a retro coffee shop serving beans on sourdough toast? Hang books from ceiling (e.g. Park Theatre) with central dvd decoration wall to attract millenial customer & older customers reliving youth .... Just don't call it Opera! :)
