Chimney breast/hearth repair

The old tiled fireplace in our bedroom has been removed and I want to level off the hearth and plasterboard it up until I can afford to have a nice one fitted. The chimney breast wall needs plastering too.

I've had a look on the site and I can't find a similar request in Fireplaces so hope its okay to post in the forum.
