Strange........I used to enjoy the whiff of Barrat's !  Our Mum worked evening shifts there probably late 50's/early 60's.   She used to come home with treats particularly I remember "Lucky Dip Bags" containing a mix of odds n sods.  Sherbet Dips, Flying Saucers. amongst other delights.  And I LOVED their liquorice offerings !  Memories eh.....

Hugh I worked there as a driver for a short while, also not forgetting Caxton Chocolate was there as well. After leaving there I went back to drive for Maynard's Wine Gums again and stayed untill 1970

That's interesting about Davis & Timmins, Reginald. Have you read this piece I wrote a few years ago? What was London Repetition?

Comment by Reginald summers 13 hours ago

Hi Hugh yes I commented on them about two years ago, also I put another comment about them being connected to Walthamstow Turned Parts. Now London Repetition I'm not really sure what they did but have a feeling they too may have been in in a similar trade as D&T. All I can remember about them sorry to say was their truck was a Commer or a Dodge ridged truck and it was dark blue. Sorry I wasn't much help with that.

Regards Reg

Hi Reginald.  When tea producers make a blend of tea, particularly for tea bags,, they will use x KGS of one tea, y KGS of another and, at the end of it, they will include z KGS of "dust" or "sweepings in the blend.

Hi Gary

I understand all that but what has it got to do with my comments.
