Many if not most members of HoL probably watched online or TV or listened on radio to Alf Dubbs and Zarah Sultana Speaking Truth to Power to our mistaken and misguided Home Secretary, about Migration. Let's hope it's not too long before Shabana Mahmood reflects on their wiser words.

Thanks, Sue. Although the sad reality is that there is - and was - no need for last straws on the camel.
Being a Socialist used to be a connecting thread among me and many thousands of people which enabled trusting discussions with each other without the need for some autocratic Lord High Executioner and their hench-people deciding who should be expelled.
In Parliament the wisest course of action for Shabana would have been an initial offer to try arranging a friendly party meet-up with herself, Alf and Zarah.
Of course, the more obvious and rational option would be for Starmer and his right-wing pals to Steer Kalmlier out of the Labour Party.

The "connecting thread" of "being a socialist" hasn't changed meaning since day one when Marx lifted these sorts of concepts from Hegel: Socialists have used that word as a euphemism to disguise their hated of western values from day 1, be they those of Aristotle and Cicero or the Enlightenment and beyond.
You support the destruction of these values. You impugn, downplay and punish those giants whose shoulders you stand on whose greatness made it so you have an easy life where you can spend all of your time posting on local forum with faux erudition. I am very confident that the Greatest Generation would not have given all as it did so Sadiq Khan could become mayor of London.
The only change since the mid 1800s is how being a malcontent (Socialist) manifests itself--back then it was being the party of slavery and exploitation (the Democrat party). Then it was supporting those who killed some 100 million (Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Pol Pot).
Today it's simple hatred of your country, the USA and Israel and wanting to see the West destroyed through mass illegal immigration while throwing someone who might dare question the propriety of doing so into jail on that basis.
No, your connecting thread is and always has been as clear as the strings operating marionettes.

When I was about 9 years old I was among hundreds of local school children who were brought in and lined up on pavements to await Winston Churchill driven past to get the Freedom of our Borough. His car duly whizzed past and we saw nothing. Nor, pf course, did we hear any wise words. He was born in 1874.
By chance I've been meaning to update my reading about Churchill with a recent book by Tariq Ali "Churchill his Times His Crimes." I may be wrong but I very much doubt he was ignorant of the very different traditions of British Socialism. (Nothing to do with my "erudition". It was my parents and the teachers at the local Council Primary school who taught me and 39 other children in the class to read.
You 're free to adopt the ignorance of Mark Michaels. Though you may wish to think for yourself instead.

When I'm 94 like Sheila Peacock I'll give you my considered opinion on this. If I can still remember my birthday, that is.In the meantime I seem to recall that we both made highly successful escape attempts from our two respective parties by using jokes and cartoons. In your case skilled graphic humour. And in my case, gentle speech balloons.
