Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Removal of Daily Parking Vouchers | Have your say Now - Deadline November 13th

Hi All,

Following on from all the previous discussion, I just received an email about the removal of Daily Visitor permits etc,  giving me the chance to comment.

https://new.haringey.gov.uk/parking/consultations-parking/have-your...

I have emailed my objection to:

traffic.orders@haringey.gov.uk

Citing:

1. It making it more expensive.

2. More onerous in terms of having to keep booking

3. That it obviously won't stop misuse - if a "good" permit holder can book 12 x hourly visitor permits then so can a "bad" permit holder - especially when they're motivated by financial gain.

Let's try an win this one!

(and Hugh please feel free to move this post as you see fit)

I completely concur. I think they’ve been rather surprised to get the challenge from Harringay residents and, as I’ve said many times before, I hope they’ll feel obliged to revert the more stupid of the changes.

Hi Sue, it is as Hugh said. I heard from someone on the scrutiny committee that they will discuss again on December 10th  cabinet but I have not seen that confirmed.

There are a few people planning to attend and submit questions to the full council meeting on November 18th. If you are willing/able to attend let me know and I can provide more details.

I'd like to go Caitlin and would be grateful for the info.

Hi Sue - I sent you a connection request, i can let you know details that way!

Caitlin,

Thank you for going to the Cabinet. Your points, Guy's points, Niall's and my own above [except perhaps for the numbers limit, which is now unclear] are all good.

I think Cllr Chadwani may have been blindsided into approving the Paper including this particular proposal; her embarrassment may be saved by having her onside to take it out.

You will need to show how many you speak for. The online Petition should help you there.

As many as possible should attend. They got the fright of their life when the St Anns residents attended and barracked a Council meeting after the LTN horse had bolted and I would hope they won't want to see that again.

Thanks again,

Nigel

Hi Sue, all, some updates,

  1. Parking Petition - The petition goes to the full council meeting on November 18th, 7:30 PM at Tottenham Town Hall. Thanks to all the signatures, a debate is guaranteed! The petition owner will present it in person.

If you're able to join us for support, let us know—it'd be fantastic to have a strong presence there!

Full details here: https://www.minutes.haringey.gov.uk/mgMeetingAttendance.aspx?ID=10854

  1. Council Meeting Questions - A few people are submitting questions about the parking proposals to the council meeting on November 18th. Questions must be submitted by 10 AM on November 5th. To avoid duplicates, we've started a list (link below). Only one question per person—some questions still need volunteers to submit!

If you can attend in person to ask, wonderful! If not, the questions will still be asked, and you'll receive a response by email.

Question list (please add any you submit)

Hi Caitlin, I will be attending.  I was about to submit a question but Niall has done it much more eloquently.  If you're looking for volunteers to ask questions where the person can't attend I'm happy to do one

Wonderful, thanks Sue! l'll see if anyone else comes up with something that needs a volunteer :)

Hi Sue - a quick note, Niall actually had two questions to ask so if you are comfortable submitting the first one he drafted that would be great!

Its in blue text in the question sheet!.

Submission details are:
email to: making.your.voice.heard@haringey.gov.uk

Make sure to include your name, addess & which member of the council the question is addressed to :)

Done!

I'll be attending, David P
