Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Fox versus goose at the New River...the pictures

I would usually leave the fox postings to Hugh but I can't resist sharing this moment captured this morning by the New River, Hampden Road.

The fox looks like he's had some success, judging by the feathers around him

The goose makes the fox think twice

Slinking off...for now

David Attenborough would be proud. I watched the signets/fledglings learning to fly on my way to the station on Tuesday morning. One of them was a bit reluctant.

There's a group on Flickr that I've seen that asks you to tell a story in five frames They have a monthly winner, I think. Most are not very good or are rather too unsucccessfully abstract. This lovely sequence though would probably win! So if you have a fifth frame, Liz, you should submit it!

I added a fifth frame at the point where the goose spots him and starts to follow him. I've found and entered it for that Flickr group as you suggested EA. Wonder if anyone else has any 5 frame stories to blog?

That's a great sequence Liz - I quite often see foxes in daylight but nothing as good as this!

Thank you. There was actually a point in the fight where the goose reared up, flapping its wings and bit the fox but my picture of it was poor.
I now know why geese are considered good 'watch dogs', that fox yelped.
Over under Hugh's latest post on his fox war in the garden, we were discussing that we are seeing them bold as brass strolling down the Harringay Passage at 9 in the morning!
