Years ago I'd heard an amusing apocryphal story about the Ally-Pally. According to that legend the original Palace was built on land that was occupied by Gypsies who were evicted from the hill in order to build it. An old Gypsy woman (Rosie Lee?), the story goes, put a curse on the new palace to be burnt 3 times!
We've therefore got another one fire to go!
I wonder whether the recent anouncement of the cancellation of the Fireworks (excuse the pun) which was the highlight (ditto) of the Ally-Plally calendar, with its combined curses of tens of thousands of revellers, would be the trigger this time.

PS I wonder whether anyone knows who the Haringey Council spokesperson on the film was?
