I must admit the beers aren't anything to write home about but I rather like the pub - it's relatively quiet, very comfy and feels rather as if it was left behind in the last century. It seems totally original and not 'done up' in any way - there's a small beer garden at the rear which gets the sun from the west in afternoons/evenings and there's the green outside too. I like it :-)

I spoke with Socrates about the visit and apparently they're still waiting to hear back from the client. I guess there's only a limited amount of nudging they can do.

I've tried another couple of times, speaking directly to the landlord. Called again today to be told that they've now started work, but that we're welcome to take a look-see when it's finished n five or six weeks. Aah well. Did my best.

Ronald, what I was able to find ot previously was that the room was used as a restaurant and concert room. Would be interested to hear more about its use as a dance hall.
