A bus on route 111 in the picture set me thinking. There were, as now, three routes on Stroud Green Road; 111 (now W7), 233 (now W3) and 210. All were single deckers and so could get under the railway bridge. All are now double deckers and so start in Wells Terrace, north of the bridge. I wonder when the bus station in Wells Terrace was built.

Opened 21st April 1974 in its current layout, though buses had terminated in Wells Terrace as far back as 1926.. Picture here when it still had an overall roof.

Thanks, Gordon. So, a bus stop existed in Wells Terrace from 1926 but, to answer Chris's question, the "new bus station opened in Wells Terrace on 21 April 74, after the coal-siding bridge had been removed in 1970". From what I can gather, it seems to have been planned as part of the Victoria line in 1964.

The immediate predessessor of the W7 was 212 (and 212 "express" for a short time) so the 111 must have been before that?

The "soon to be demolished Rowan's Bowling Alley" bit gave me a start! Hasn't that plan been abandoned?
