Where is/was the Fire Station ? I can't place it from my time. And abundance of moustaches....8 out of 12 !
Good question. The answer is I'm not sure. There's a well-known Painting of of Wood Green Fire Station in 1873, but I'm not sure of it's location. It may well be in the same location as where it was by the turn of the century - at 289 High Road, tucked away behind the shops just north of the Fishmongers' Arms pub.

By 1914, a new station had been built on Bounds Green Road, which is shown in this photo and still stands today, though I think it's no longer in service.
