This building still stands near the railway bridge on the corner of Tottenham Lane and Hornsey High Street. When the shops extended along the first part of Turnpike Lane between the bridge and Wightman Road, it didn't look quite so lonely!

Looking at this bank building, basically a high street branch, I wonder at the sad state of banking today.
Banks are selling/closing branches all over the country, in streamlining and cost cutting exercises, but who benefits, certainly not, it would seem, staff, with job losses or job transfers (with extra travel costs?) or the customers who had accounts registered at these branches ( no percentage increases or decreases on current, savings or loans). Even with internet banking, there are times when a physical intervention/contact is needed.
