Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

"Stone Cottage", Park Road, Crouch End, 1963

An early Victorian building, that stood until the mid-1960s on Park Road, Crouch End. You can see the name "Stone Cottage" high up on the end of the building.

In this 1950s postcard the building's roofline can just be seen on the left, above the Cleveland sign.

In the mid nineteenth century its occupant was Horatio Peacock. By the end of the century it was home to the Cowleys who stayed in residence well in to the Twentieth Century. Today the site is occupied by a pet shop, part of a short strip of 1960's build shop-houses.
