I recall a coffee bar in Westbury Road in the late 50s where we used to drink coffee in glass cups. It had a fairly exotic name I think. Anyone?

Flash Gordon! But in my day 6d would have been a lot for an ice lolly; it was I think 6d to get in. And that 'box" of Poppets was more likely a small one!
I kicked off at the Coliseum. Entrance wasn't as much as 6d. 6d was a lot of money. We loved Flash Gordon. Buster Crabbe was Flash, The soundtrack music was Tsaikovsky's Overture to Romeo and Juliet. I can still hum it.
