Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The station lay in a cutting.. I remember it being serverely vandalised at the end of the 1960s. The site was used a couple of times for a fun fair, but was then used to build a new comprehensive school, which replaced Downhills.
The school on the site was opened in September 1970.
The locomotive is working a North Woolwich to Palace Gates via Stratford, Lea Bridge, South Tottenham & Seven Sisters service. Last day of operation 7 January 1963.

Didn't Tottenham look idyllic back then?

Although, look at all that dirt and pollution coming from the locomotive.. Those people with back gardens backing onto the railway, daren't hang out their washing to dry.. :o)
