What a small world. How long have you lived there. I hope you will be as happy there as my family were. As I said it was the meeting place for all aunts, uncles and dozens of cousins and the parties went on for days. It was a very exciting place to be for us kids having one aunt downstairs and one upstairs we had the run of the whole house...it was wonderful.

We have been here seven years in October. Unfortunately we don't have the whole house, it has been divided up into two flats. We live on the ground floor but we do have the a lovely huge garden.

Yes I remember that garden. I knew the house was in two flats now because the landlord converted it after my aunt who lived downstairs died but my other aunt remained upstairs for many years until she died in 2000. My other memory of 125 was spending hours sitting at the upstairs kitchen window watching the STEAM trains and the drivers waving to us as they went by.

Thanks for reply to me and happy gardening.

Great photo, Doreen!

Do you know which year it was taken?

Thanks Angela, Sorry dont know exact date photo was taken but it was nan and grandad's wedding. Nan was born Rachel Sarah Jordan in Bangalore India in 1871 and grandad was born James Samuel Peters in 1872. They owned a grocers shop in Ferdinand Street Chalk Farm before moving to Wightman Road. My mother was the youngest of 9 children and she was born 1914. I would guess the date of photo to be approximately early 1890's. I have a beautiful enlargement of that photo on my wall and it has been coloured in. I love old photos.

Hi Ken, I remember the name Chidley, as I used to play next door in my Grandmothers garden at no. 123 in the early 50's I remember the very high wall at the end of the garden as this was the foundation of the Railway track above.
The family name was Wills, There was Sydney, Charlie, Marjorie,Len, and parents Louise and Henry who was a master carpenter by trade.
