In what I think is 543 Green Lanes, the sign shows a sign for pies and eels. You'd think that this indicated that there was a shop there selling these fares. However, a look at the Kelly's directory of 1937 (and over the decade before) and the Post Office directory of 1948 suggests that the sign was just a hoarding ad for a business elsewhere.
