Photo by Fin Fahey, a friend of mine. Back in 2006, the view to the tracks had been allowed to be obscured by the tree. A 1960s school holiday haunt for most local trainspotters, who with spotters books, duffel bags full with sandwiches, sweets and a soft drink, would spend all day here, watching the the to-ing and fro-ing into King Cross. The arrival & departure timetables for King's Croos were posted here, with a notice 'trains pass this point five minutes after leaving King's Cross'.
When I last looked in 2014, this area was totally overgrown and the platform seemed to have gone.
Still there!
Shame but I would've been surprised if it was. Brings back memories. Mind you, we could see the trains from our back garden.
Me and a few mates used to go there ! Simple days.
