Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Turnpike Lane-Green Lanes junction, 1904

Looking east towards at the mid nineteenth century housing terrace on the site of the tube station. From left to right, they were Pleasant Cottage, Kent Lodge and Just peeking on the right) Newent Villa. Behind them was Pleasant Grove, what later became Langham Road.

This photo kicked off some wonderings about the width of this end of Turtnpike Lane, which I've written about here.

Coincidentally, this image cropped up on a Facebook site and I took a current snap showing the same view .
