Just about discernible in this image are the old factories off Turnpike Lane just by the gas holders. Also to the right of the caboose behind the coal wagon is the Goulding Court that used to stand on Turnpike Lane, just to the east of the railway bridge. Further to the right are terraces of houses demolished when the Turnpike Lane/Wightman Road junction was redeveloped
It's interesting to compare this photo with one taken of a very smillar view about thirty years later.
