Um, no wish to carp but as someone who rode scooters (albeit South of the river) in 1967, no 'cool dude' (or 'face' or 'geezer') would have been seen dead (!) in a crash helmet back then. Such headpieces were not obligatory till 1973, and were generally reckoned to be for the big bike riders (greasers, rockers) who really needed them. Also if I was offered a Vespa of this age for £6 at that time I would have assumed it was 'bent', perhaps in more ways than one (in fact I had one very similar to this TWOCed at about that time...).
