I find this picture interesting because it shows just how narrow Tottenham Lane used to be at its extreme western and, as it entered the Broadway.
Much of this picture will be familiar to those who have looked at old photos of the area. It shows Topsfield Hall: the sign post before it stands just about where the clocktower is today. However this photo is different to others focussing on the Hall because the photographer has included more of the scene to its east (on the right of the photo). Before looking at this I hadn't realised quite how narrow Tottenham Lane was at this point.
The building on the east of Tottenham Lane (opposite the side of Topsfield Hall) that just shows in the photo was a property owned by Henry Elder, the last owner of Topsfield. Beyond that travelling north was Holne/Colquon House (not in the photo). Sadly, I have yet to find any photo of old Tottenham Lane between Topsfield Hall and Manor Place (where Ferme Park Road now joins).
You can read more about eastern side of old central Crouch End in two articles I've previously published.

You can understand, better, where the "Lane" name part came from with this.
