Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
"The Egg Shop" Green Lanes c1965
Over the past dozen years on HoL, there have been repeated mentions of memories of "The Egg Shop" on on Green Lanes. I've finally tracked down an image of an egg shop. It accords with one person's memory becaise it has the tiled balck and white floor.
The shop was run by Chaim S Grosberg and his wife Margaretha between 1931 and at least 1971.
The premises is now occupied by Music & Beans and I'm glad to say that the floor is still intact.

Any chance you could put a higher resolution of the chemist's window display, Hugh? Someone might be able to get a latest date estimate from the products available. Would be interesting to see the lady in the shop in higher resolution too: Would she be the lady referred to above?
