Interesting looking shop front windows but I bet they've been replaced. They look almost too modern for 1891. And two horses pulling a whole tramload of people!

For what it's worth, my step-sister's grandmother told her that she could remember trams running in Kimberley Gardens. Will phone her for more info (my sister of course, her grandmother would be about 140 lol)

It's me with my dates again Hugh. The buildings behind were built in 1904. Hertford Road, King Edwards Road, Edmonton. Opposite the end of Tramway Avenue, the road leading to Edmonton Tram Depot.

The horse drawn trams were replaced by electric in 1904/05. So I imagine this was a 'Farewell Horse Trams' photo.

The location today:

@Roy As far as I know, there were never any tram tracks on Kimberley Gardens.

Hugh, 1891 refers to the date the tram was built I think. Not the date of the photo. This route was steam operated until 1890.
