My memory says it was still in use in the 60s when Sam Kemble was Rector.

Did you ever visit, Richard?

I wish. I have severe COPD and a few years back I was thinking of spending a few nights in the Salisbury and re-visiting. I never got round to it (too busy wintering in Andalusia!) and now I couldn't anyway; 80 next week, days after my brother is 90!
