The Old Queen's Head, c1860

So pleased with this find, but never in a 100 years would I have guessed where it was (without at least some context at any rate).

It's the Old Queen's Head which was demolished to make way for the building that stands today in 1898. This would have been the building where all the lots on what is now the Ladder were auctioned off as the old Harringay Park Estate was broken up.

It was taken by eminent Victorian photographer George Shadbolt c 1860. To the side are the livery stables, Inthe foreground are the wooden pens for animals on Duckett's Common.

The Queens Head was a licensed premises from 1793.
