This photo is on a postcard postmarked 1910. I've been trying to place the house. Scanning maps, particularly the detailed 1895 Town Plan, I've considered the following elements:
I thought at first it might be on Tollington between Stroud Green & Hornsey Roads. I also looked to the south and south east of the Finsbury Park park. So far I've been unable to match it.
Of course, just because it was posted in Finsbury Park, doesn't necessarily mean the photo was taken nearby, but it probably was.
Any ideas?

Given the slope it seems to be built on, could it perhaps be Green Lanes, east side, between Woodberry Grove and Hermitage Road? Or was that all terraced housing before the estate was built?
Thanks, Don. That's a good thought. I had the same idea and have already checked those houses whilst I think the start is very similar, I couldn't find a match. That might just be my failure.
So many chimneys should stand out if still standing
Crouch End conservation area?
It's hard to get clues as the image can't be magnified very well
The best way to see a larger size is yo click “View Full Size” below the text beneath the image, but I’m not sure it’ll help much.
It’s no help for ID, but it was only when I enlarged it that I saw the two young women perring over the hedge/front fence on the left!
Yup, me too. I assume they’re part of the posed scene of domestic bliss.
It is a rather grand looking house. Yes Eric..14 pots ! But when magnified the brickwork looks in a poor state of repair and the room above front entrance appears as if not used, lack of curtains and new putty around window pane. My initial thought was toward Clissold Park area down from Manor House ?
Hugh, John. I'm sure it's 126 Lordship Rd N16 - corner of Grayling Rd.
I did wonder if 'Westlake House' could be connected to the West Reservoir, Woodberry Down - or the small lakes in Clissold Park, John. The attached images are not so clear - best viewed on google street view. The old photo suggests the house is detached but it's clear on all maps that it isn't.
Bang on! Well done and thank you Les.
That would have made the head of household Lucy Strickland Lawson. Born in Calcutta, by 1911 Lucy was running a boarding house on nearby Albion Road. So I assume that she was doing the same at Westlake House. She was born in either 1850 or 1870, depending on whether her age in the 1911 census in 41 or 61.
I'd probably have never found it without your help, Les. The shape shown on the map doesn't fit with what I was looking for.
