Yes it is.. The Street lighting is attached to what was formerly tramway overhead traction poles.. notice that they lean slightly back, as all traction poles do. In fact, the pole on the island, was still used as a trolley bus overhead pole for the North>South (Central London >Manor House > Enfield & Finchley routes), when this shot was taken. The wires can be just about be made out

Similar lighting attachments were also to be found at Bruce Grove and strangely, along West Green Road, although there was never a tram service along that road.

Fantastic picture. I grew up in the 50's/ 60's in a street just behind the bus garage I remember all those buildings on the north side of Station Road, one of which is still standing. I feel I have been transported back home, there is so much in this photograph that I am familiar with even the "Station Road" road sign on the left hand side.

Library on the Right hand corner, behind that, the British Legion 'Shed', next fish & chip shop, Toy shop , newsagent who sold 'dirty mags' on the top shelf, I can't remember any other shops. The Rex cinema (showing Errol Flynn). Further down the road you can see 'Tudor House' & the railway bridge carrying the Palace Gates line. On the left the shop just in view was a Chemist, then into Station Road there was an Ally leading to what was once a Slaughter House. Then the row of low shops that were below street level with a ramped entrance leading down, haberdashers, sweet shop & photographers are the only ones I remember. The tall building on the left is North Met House (Electricity supplier). Nice Standard Vanguard & a Ford 100E van standing at the lights. (So it has to be post 1957)

One of the buildings on the left is Woodgates the jewellers, and on the right near the cinema was a fishing tackle shop which I think was called ‘Paynes’. Further up on the left was the Fisherman’s Arms pub.
