Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Conversion of Harringay Arena to Supermarket Supplier Stores 1959
In 1958 the Harringay Arena was sold to the Allied Suppliers part of Home & Colonial Stores. The raked seating stands and sports surface were removed and a gallery was constructed both for architectural rigidity and to increase floorspace.
Following the conversion, the Arena survived as a storehouse until it was sold and finally demolished in 1978.
