Yes, I remember the school crossing man. Didn't know what "all aboard" meant. Obviously a naval expression. Sorry for any delays answering but I lead an incredibly busy life, and can't always check my emails; texts; Watsapps; Facebook; Instagram; HOL... (modern world, huh?)
Joyce Boston..........referring back to your post 28th Jan : YES, John Wilkinson was the name I was trying to recall......think we may have been in same class ??
Hi John. Glad you managed to recall him. ..he passed away 15years ago but remained in Harringay all his life.
Oh Joyce ....so very sorry to hear about your brother, John. At relatively young age..........life often seems so unfair eh ! Have you moved away from area ? Have you got any school age photos of both brothers ? Take care........
I remember Mr Woodbridge who was the lollipop man outside Chestnuts School. He retired in 1966 and emigrated to Australia to live with his son and family. He was a very pleasant man.
Hello John. I found a photo but couldnt post it to this forum so I have put it in with other photos I have posted. (I am not very good with techno things) Hope you find it. Myself and Pete moved out of Harringay in our early twenties but our mum stayed there so we were regular visitors untill 10 years ago when she passed. We saw an awfull lot of changes but its lovely remembering things that come up on here that you had completely forgotten about.
