An ex-Walthamstow Corporation Hurst-Nelson tram (similar to the LCCs E/1) on tram route 29 Enfield - Tottenham Court Road (Euston Road). This particular tram was new in 1932 and originally worked on Route 57 Chingford Mount - Hackney - Liverpool Street, but after the formation of London Transport in 1933 was fitted with a driver's windscreen & transferred to Holloway Depot for use on the 29. The Walthamstow Rate-Payers certainly didn't get their money's worth out of it, as it never returned to E17, but it did survive until the end of London's Trams, being withdrawn in 1952. This class of tram with it's loud gear boxes was infamously known as the loudest trams in London.
The 29 tram was withdrawn in 1938 and replaced by trolleybus 629. http://www.harringayonline.com/photo/green-lanes-looking-north-from?context=latest
Tram 29 also ran parallel to Bus 29 Hadley Wood - Southgate - Victoria, which in 1938 made it's only excursion south of the Thames, when it was extended via Cheyne Walk to Battersea. It was cut back to Victoria at the outbreak of war in 1939.
A trolleybus on route 621 North Finchley - King's Cross - Holborn Circus, can be seen in the background.
