Taken during Billy Graham's "crusade", this would have been shot from roughly the corner of Endymion Road looking in the direction of where Sainsbury's now is.

I was living in Harringay at the time of picture. We lived in Kimberley Gardens at this time. Although I remember seeing the sign when walking past the Arena, I never actually when to see B. Graham, but I remember it being very well supported.
How sad we let that arena go...!
My parents went to that. I remember my mum telling me about it.
One of my earliest memories is the circus at the arena particularly the clowns cleaning up after the elephants
I was in Harringay then and my family were outraged that this American bible puncher should be allowed to preach in Britain! Then, a few days after, one of our neighbours came in and professed a total conversion. My father flew into a rage and stormed out saying "That woman never comes into my house again!" In fact she didn't and mum used to meet her in the Criterion Cafe round the corner!
Is the Wood Green empire still there? In west London we had two sister theatres the palladium Ealing and the,Chiswick empire both now sadly gone
No, it’s gone now, Paul.
What a jewel these would be today
