I'm always amazed at how wide the roads looked back then. Anyone know if this is looking towards Green Lanes or Wightman Rd ?

And this is what they may look like again, when we get over the obsession with private car ownership (though I expect there’ll be more than a solitary bicycle parked on the road).

I'm fairly certain Green Lanes is at the end of the road. Falkland is mostly terraced housing and on the immediate left through the trees, you can just about see the side of one of the few semi-detached terraces. It also has a single gate whilst the other entrances are double gated. The terraces with the awnings are on the right. Such a great photo displaying the uniformity of Victorian terraces (though each rung of terraces are slightly different).

The 'wide'look is the result of the type of camera, lens and plate film in use. In effect if produced a wide angle view but with limited 'height'.  The eye sees it more like the image from Google lower down.  I agree it is looking towards Green Lanes as looking the other way the back of North Harringay school would be on the right. Or if it is 1905 possibly the building site for the school - I forget the date of building although I went there.

A similar car-less perspective following the road resurfacing.
