Peter Morris.....re your comment back in Oct 14........You stirred up names from my school past there alright.....Woodlands Park Junior and South Grove Secondary (56-64).  Vic Fifield and Alan Sanders. And how lucky you are to have great photos.   Great and most amusing memories.   I used to frequent that corner café during my stint on Oceana Laundry vans circa 65.  Very stern looking lady owned it, answered to the name of Doll.  Her speciality was bread, which she cut so perfectly and about 1" thick,  plastered with dripping and a sprinkling of salt.  Two of them washed down with a giant mug of tea set you up for the day.   Aaaah memories and happiness abound..........

Maureen Bamfield.    lived in a flat over a drapers shop on the corner of Roseberry gardens, went to St Anns school and South Grove. Both my brothers also went to St Anns school,, Len & George Bamfield. I remember Disney furniture store , which I understand is still going. Also a Bakers  "HAnns" and a florist " Roses "  These photos bring back such lovely memories.

My grandparents lived in westbeech road similar to those in the photo

i spent a lot of time there 1950 to 1957 due to family illness I remember lying in bed listening to the railway shunting

Grandfather had an allotment with a two compartment wheelbarrow the tools went in the front and I and any horse manure collected went in the back did not make me grow much!
