With thanks to Alistair for the Now. I've rendered it in black & white to give a better sense of comparison.

So that's why the little pub that's on Turnpike Lane (closed for a while now) was called The Wellington. They took it from the previous pub that used to be next door...

From memory, the entire corner plot was The Wellington including what you describe as 'the little pub on Turnpike Lane'. What was recently on Turnpike Lane was an additional door to an additional bar, the other entrance was on Wood Green High Road. This was during the days of there being a Saloon Bar and a Public Bar. Public Bars were very basic (my Mum would describe the Public Bar at the Unwin Arms as 'spit and sawdust) and, I think, charged cheaper beer prices. The Saloon Bar was a little more upmarket - a place to take a 'lady'.

That did occur to me, Lydia. I didn't want to say something I didn't know for sure though. Thanks for the info. Anyone know when it closed as a pub?

I’m amazed to see terraced houses along the high street, I have seen old photographs further along on the opposite side of old grand houses where the shops are now.
